A. She is in theaters right now in August Rush. Next, she will co-star with Sigourney Weaver in the drama The Girl in the Park, and plans to star with Adam Sandler in a Disney family comedy called Bedtime Stories.

Q. A friend told me that Natalie Maines of the Dixie Chicks is married to a famous actor. Which one? - L.S.

A. Adrian Pasdar, of the series Heroes; he plays former New York Congressman Nathan Petrelli.

Q. Is it true that Jessica Simpson’s father arranged her relationship with Tony Romo? - K.F.

A. It’s true that Romo, a Dallas Cowboys quarterback, had made no secret of his desire to meet Simpson, and her father, a big Cowboys fan, was only too happy to arrange it. The two hit it off and, at least at this minute, are dating. But Romo has been known to play the field, so no one knows how long it will last.

Q. I think Samuel L. Jackson is such a great actor. What is he doing next? - N.S.

A. He co-stars with Diane Lane in the coming adventure film Jumper; the sci-fi thriller Iron Man, with Robert Downey Jr., Terrence Howard and Gwyneth Paltrow; the thriller Lakeview Terrace, with Kerry Washington; the animated Quantum Quest: A Cassini Space Odyssey, alongside John Travolta; and he is filming the action drama The Spirit, with Scarlett Johansson and Eva Mendes. In a change of pace from his very serious roles, he then plans to play a nanny in the film Man That Rocks the Cradle.

Q. I read somewhere that there is a movie coming out about Barry Bonds. Is that true? - J.G.

A. It will be. Director Ron Shelton, no stranger to baseball films, as director of Bull Durham and Cobb, will direct a film for HBO based on the book Game of Shadows: Barry Bonds, BALCO and the Steroids Scandal That Rocked Professional Sports. It traces Bond’s tie to steroids. It should air on HBO next year.

Q. I think Liev Schreiber is such a good actor. What will he be in next? - T.P.

A. He’s filming the World War II drama Defiance, with Daniel Craig; and goes next into the drama Repossession Mambo, with Jude Law and Forest Whitaker; and the X-Men spinoff X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Q. I think actor Ashton Kutcher is really cute. What movies will he do next? - K.F.

A. He co-stars with Cameron Diaz and Queen Latifah in the coming comedy What Happens In Vegas ... and is filming the drama Personal Effects, with Michelle Pfeiffer.

Q. I haven’t seen actor Matthew Perry in anything in a while. Is he still working? - P.G.

A. After the demise of the series Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, Perry went back to movies. He co-stars with Hilary Swank in the coming comedy-drama The Laws of Motion, and plans to follow it with the romantic comedy The Beginning of Wisdom and the comedy Seventeen, the latter with Zac Efron.
